A little about the kates: Since 2009, the kates has showcased a rotating line-up of female performers at the Book Cellar.
Besides their monthly show, the kates also teach Feminine Comique, a beginners course for prospective female performers. “The networking and space to try new things are a few great aspects of the kates. But it is also a very intimate space. The intimacy flexes a new comic muscle,” says kates founder Kelsie Huff. “We train gals to write and perform in a non-traditional space, which makes you a better comedian, which allows you to take over the world!”
