Thanks to all of our sponsors and partners – we couldn’t make this conference happen without your support!
The Chicago Writers Conference is excited to partner with Chicago Tribune. CWC 2012 will be held at the historic Tribune Tower, a beautiful building with a longstanding Chicago legacy in award-winning writing and journalism.
The Book Cellar
We love supporting local bookstores at CWC and we’re happy that The Book Cellar will be selling books during the conference featuring title by conference speakers. The Book Cellar is an independently owned, community-oriented bookstore located in the heart of Lincoln Square, Chicago. We offer a wide selection of titles, and we’re committed to connecting readers with books they’ll love. We welcome you to browse the shelves, check out our staff recommendations, attend one of our many book events, or stop by our cafe for wine, beer, sandwiches, and pastries. We are proud to continue the tradition of independent bookselling and look forward to your visit. Check out The Book Cellar website for more information.
Chicago Writers Association
The Chicago Writers Association is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the 4 C’s of writing: creativity, commerce, craft and community. They share our love of the Chicago writing community and CWC is excited that CWA will be part of the conference!
The Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP)
We’re excited to have The Chicago Independent Radio Project as our media sponsor and partner! As long-time fans and listeners of CHIRP, CWC couldn’t be happier about this partnership. CHIRP is dedicated to providing Chicago residents with a community radio station focused on the representation of local people, events, and issues alongside a wide array of local and independent music. We seek to promote localism, diversity, and independence in public broadcasting via programming and web content curated, created, and produced by Chicagoans. We aim to consistently expand the breadth and depth of our on-air and online voice by incorporating the multi-faceted voices of the community. CHIRP Radio is a non-profit, volunteer-run, music-, arts-, and culture-focused radio station transmitting live from our studios in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood from 6AM-3AM seven days a week, 365 days a year. CWC is excited to have Northwestern University MA/MFA in Creative Writing as a sponsor. The program offers writers the opportunity to develop their craft and work toward their professional goals in a part-time graduate degree program. Students may choose from a wide range of scheduling options in a master of arts or a master of fine arts program that combines the best features of both on-campus and low-residency creative writing programs. Both degrees offer three specializations: fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction. Learn more.
